Dec. 14, 2005 - Aviation Structural Mechanic 1st Class Josh Leasure is reenlisted by Lt. Geoff Reeves as other members of the “Leap Frogs” Navy parachute team look on high above San Diego. The “Leap Frogs” are comprised entirely of U.S. Navy SEAL and Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewman (SWCC) personnel.

F/A-18E Super Hornet


Dec. 7, 2005 – An F/A-18E Super Hornet, assigned to the “Royal Maces” of Strike Fighter Squadron Two Seven (VFA-27), launches off the flight deck of the conventionally powered aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) during an early morning rain shower. Kitty Hawk and embarked Carrier Air Wing Five (CVW-5) are currently conducting operations in the Western Pacific Ocean.

Disaster Assistance Center Pakistan


U.S. Navy Kenneth Braithwaite, assigned to the Disaster Assistance Center Pakistan, visits children at Narul Girls High School in Muzaffarabad, Pakistan. The Department of Defense is supporting the State Department by providing disaster relief supplies and services following the massive earthquake that struck Pakistan and parts of India and Afghanistan Oct. 8, 2005.
