USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71)
140923-N-SB299-405 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 23, 2014) The aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) leads ships from Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 12 during a maneuvering exercise. Theodore Roosevelt participated in the maneuvering exercise with the Peruvian submarine BAP Islay (SS 35), the guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60), and the guided-missile destroyers USS Winston Churchill (DDG 81), USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98) and USS Farragut (DDG 99). Crowther, from Perryville, Md., ascends into a UH-1Y Huey Venom utility helicopter after leaping into the water to simulate a rescue. The aircrew is embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5).
