Vince Romandine, mortarman, native of McHenry, Illn., Mortars Section, Weapons Platoon, Company A, Landing Force Detachment, 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, fire their mortar during an immediate suppression drill July 20. More than 150 Marines from the LF participated in a live fire and maneuver training exercise as part of unilateral military operations here July 19-20. Training included live fire of the M224 60mm Mortar System and Shoulder-fired Multi-purpose Assault Weapon, explosive ordnance disposal/combat engineers demolitions and assaulting an enemy position as a squad sized force.
