SAN DIEGO (April 12, 2010) Sailors aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) man the rails as the ship transits Turning Basin toward its new homeport of Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego. Carl Vinson and Carrier Air Wing 17 conducted humanitarian and disaster relief operations in Haiti during Operation Unified Response and held partnership exercises with seven Latin American countries as part of Southern Seas 2010.
